Artists & Advertising
I majored in Fine Arts / Painting, but found a career in advertising. Andy Warhol started in advertising and became a famous artist. Toulouse-Lautec was able to bridge both worlds creating promotional posters and fine art. Art and advertising are reflections of our culture, with advertising being a more direct extension of capitalism. What would have happened if the artists we know and love had embraced a career in advertising? Strange bedfellows.
